Purple Belt Requirements

 

           A.    Forms

                   1.     4th gup purple

a.     Sypsoo; 10 hands; Karate

b.     Dan Kwan; Short Fist; Chu’an Fa

c.     Palgue yuk jang; Providence of the Universe TKD

d.     Bong hyung yi chol

                   2.     3rd gup purple

a.     Koryo; Korean dynasty; TKD

b.     Do ju san; Escaping through the mist; Chu’an Fa

c.     Tae Beck; Tallest mountain range in Korea TKD

           B.    Prearranged Drills

                   1.     Practical one-steps 1-10

                   2.     Formal one-steps 1-7

                   3.     Formal three-steps 1-7

                   4.     Hapkido one-steps 1-7

                   5.     Tightening ways 1-6

           C.    Sparring techniques

                   1.     Against kidney or rib cage strike, elbow block and uppercut

                   2.     Against knife hand to the neck, shoulder block and reverse punch

                   3.     Against high knife hand, back hand palm block and ridge hand strike mid-section

                   4.     Against high knife hand or back fist, duck and move forward counter attack with front hand knife hand strike to kidney or punch rib cage.

                   5.     Backhand palm block and scissor take down

                   6.     From horse stance, switch stance quickly turning toward attacker, keeping feet and body low to the ground. Skip side kick.

                   7.     Inside block and back spinning kick to head with heel.

                   8.     Inside block, spinning outside crescent kick with outside edge of foot

                   9.     Flying turning back kick

                   10.  From sparring stance, switch stance moving 45° off centerline, skip front kick with back foot

                   11.  Same as number 9, skip kick with the front foot

                   12.  While backing up, switch stance and jump kick

                   13.  Jump, block with front leg and reverse punch

           D.    Avoiding techniques

                   1.     Move diagonally forwards 45°

                   2.     Move diagonally backwards 45°

           E.    Breaking techniques

                   1.     Back spinning kick

                   2.     Flying side kick
