           G.    Sparring techniques

                   1.     Hand sparring. Show fake opening to center, head or kidney to lure attacker.           

a.     Against skip center punch: front hand inside forearm block and front hand counter

I)     Back fist strike temple

ii)     Knife hand strike neck or temple          

iii)    Upper punch

b.     Against skip upper punch: rising block and reverse punch

c.     Against high knife hand strike: high cutting block and low knife hand strike

d.     Against kidney strike: low cutting block and high outside knife hand strike

e.     Against front kick: down block with knife hand then counter with outside knife hand strike

f.     Against side kick: avoid by moving front foot to back foot, block with knife hand down block, then counter with inside ridge hand strike


 

g.     Attacks:

i)      Step, skip and punch 

ii)     Step, skip and high knife hand strike (high and low)

iii)    Step, skip and back fist strike (high and center)

                   2.     Hand & foot combinations

a.     X down block, back fist strike, high punch, and front kick

b.     Against roundhouse kick, X side block and knife hand strike

c.     X side block, knife hand strike, high punch, and front kick

           H.    Short stick (dan bong) counter attack guidelines.  Right hand and foot attacks, then practice left side.

                   1.     Center stab: avoid inside to back stance, hammer fist to pressure point on forearm just above wrist, back fist strike

                   2.     Overhead strike: step forward with left foot just outside of attacker’s right foot and blocking attack just above elbow as attacker raises arm to strike. Knee kick groin and sweep back of knee. Follow up with reverse punch to vital point.

                   3.     Inside diagonal strike: avoid by moving diagonally forward with left foot and ducking under attacking arm. Ridge hand strikes solar plexus and follows up with elbow to kidney or knife hand to back of neck.

                   4.     Outside diagonal strike: avoid by moving diagonally forward with right foot ducking under attacking arm. Uppercut to solar plexus and floating rib cage, follow up with elbow to kidney or spine or knife hand to back of neck.

                   5.     Inside attack to head or neck: drop to floor with hands between the knees, head down below shoulders. Move forward with left foot and place left hand on floor behind attackers front heel holding attacker’s heel. Push knee diagonally to the rear with right hand until attacker falls backwards. Continue controlling the attacker by pushing the foot causing the attacker to roll backwards, get up and follow up with heel kick to groin or front kick to tailbone.

                   6.     Outside attack to knees: jump up and front kick face or grab head and knee kick face.

           I.     Falling

                   1.     Forward roll

                   2.     Break fall

           J.     Breaking technique:

                   1.     Front running kick

                   2.     Skip knife hand strike
